Kumori

Size: 15 ft - 30 ft

The kumori are bear-like creatures with fur that typically appears in light shades of yellow, pink, purple, blue, or green. They are most often found in arid regions, having adapted to hot, waterless environments. In the desert, their wide paws and springy legs allow them to run and bounce effortlessly across the sands. Kumori are also known for climbing trees, even those that reach into the clouds. It is unknown what their limit for a safe fall distance might be, but these bears have been observed dropping from great heights and landing unharmed on their springy legs before bouncing away.

They endure the desert heat through a combination of their protective fur and frequent sand baths. Kumori also know how to locate trees and cacti, feeding on water-rich leaves to stay hydrated. Perhaps their most remarkable adaptation, however, is their ability to release heat through vents located in their armpits and between their legs. As heat is expelled from their bodies, it forms a cloud that seems to surround them almost constantly.

Kumori have also been known to climb to the tops of Cloudroot Trees, whose roots grow in the clouds, in order to hunt the polari that fly high in the atmosphere.
