Danger: Normal
Inhabitants: Dridders
On the northern side of Iracal Island lie the ruins of a vast city that was once home to the Torinian people. Like the newer city of Torin, the old city was constructed in a style reminiscent of Greco-Roman architecture, though marked by its own distinctive variations. Long since reclaimed by nature, the ruins would almost certainly serve as the final resting place for any humans foolish enough to attempt their recapture. The city has been uninhabitable ever since it was inexplicably transported to Felarya during one of Iracal Island’s more volatile dimensional destabilizations. What remains is a haunted shell, where age-old echoes of screams seem to linger in the whistling wind.
The people who once lived here, awakening to find their city beneath the sky of an alien world, could not have imagined that this sudden displacement was an omen of horrors to come. Giant creatures known as Dridders soon investigated the city’s appearance, and their curiosity was rewarded with countless tiny victims to sate their hunger. Those humans fortunate enough to survive the feeding frenzy fled into the island’s wilderness, guided by their prince, Cretes Torin. He would soon be crowned king, following the sacrifice of his father, Hyberius Torin, who remained behind in a desperate effort to save as many lives as possible from the voracious giants.
Enduring the hostile, alien wilds, the Torinian people eventually ascended Mount Litocoro, where they discovered the ancient foundations of a lost civilization. There, they began to build anew. Their new city of Torin was heavily fortified with the dangers of this world in mind, its people hoping and praying they would never be discovered or forced to test those defenses. Though reclaiming the ruins of Old Torin remains a powerful dream for some—an enduring symbol of their history—the immense effort required to secure it would ultimately be self-destructive.
