The Book of Atreus: Antagonists
Updated: Aug 25
The following is a list of main antagonists planned for The Book of Atreus.
ERIS THE ACCUSER: MISTRESS OF LIES

Aliases: the Planeswalker, the Accuser
Age: Unknown
Height: 8” (when planes-walking), 110” (true size)
Skin complexion: Crimson
Hair color: Silver
Eye color: Grey
Abilities: Interdimensional projection, illusions
“The Accuser—she goes to and fro throughout Felarya, and up and down in it, tearing bonds asunder, turning the upright from their path, and laying claim to once-righteous souls.”
Eris is the consummate rebel, one who has always had a problem with any authority but her own. It is said of her, “The Accuser breathes lies as mortals breathe air.”
The succubus has no loyalty to Hell, nor any interest in collecting “tawdry” wayward souls. Eris seduces and draws souls to Hell primarily for the love of the game. Rarely does she even devour those she leads astray. This gave rise to the saying, “The Planeswalker sows while others reap.” Indeed, Eris appears to desire only those souls that seem truly incorruptible, which means the ones she chooses to keep for her own pleasure are few and far between.
Eris is able to project herself incorporeally into other dimensions, appearing in several places at once while typically remaining invisible. This ability is known as “planeswalking.” She whispers into ears, sowing discord and tempting souls. She can also manifest physically, but doing so requires her to focus all of her attention on that single form, ending her other projections—while her true self remains in Hell.
She is a powerful illusionist and is innately skilled in fire magic. Yet despite these powers, she enjoys the thrill of melee combat most of all. A warrior at heart, she rarely turns down a challenge to duel with weapons, her favorite being the morningstar.

Note: I wanted a succubus to be the antagonist of the sequel to Torin Youth. I didn't think the canon characters fit what I was looking to do so I created my own and called her Eris. This is my first concept sketch so some minor details will likely change. She is planned to be the antagonist of the third arc.
ABNOBA THE HUNTRESS

Name: Abnoba (nicknamed Abby by Atreus)
Aliases: The Huntress
Species: Enhanced Canopy Fairy / Dusk Nymph
Age: 25 (likely)
Sex: Female
Typical Height: 5’5 (1.67m)
Maximum Height: 110”, 150” in abyssal form
Skin complexion: Pale
Hair color: Violet with dark pink tips
Eye color: Light Blue (right), black and red (left)
Wing Style: Dragonfly (morphs when darkness spreads across her body)
Abilities: Dimensional magic, darkness elemental magic, shapeshifting
Predation: Reluctant (highly specialized as the Huntress)
Other characteristics: Darkness resembling vines spreads from her left eye, creeping across her body and covering more of her form as her power grows. At peak power, her body becomes entirely shrouded in darkness.
History: It is not known whether Abnoba was abducted as a young fairy or created within a laboratory. What is known is that she is an unnatural fusion of multiple fairy subspecies—namely the Canopy Fairy and the Dusk Nymph—augmented with significant enhancements. The organization responsible, known cryptically as The Cure, brought together powerful magicians and brilliant scientists with a singular aim: to engineer a predator capable of hunting other predators.
This undertaking was designated Project Huntress, a title that also serves as the name of Abnoba’s alternate personality—one that lies dormant until triggered. Over time, the scope of Project Huntress expanded. No longer limited to monstrous prey, The Cure began deploying their creation against smaller humanoid targets, eliminating opposition wherever it arose—political or otherwise.
In addition to the innate abilities of Canopy Fairies and Dusk Nymphs, Abnoba possesses a range of unnatural powers, including teleportation and the ability to phase through solid matter like a specter. When Huntress takes control, these abilities are amplified many times over—especially under the cover of night. Beneath the light of a full moon, she reaches her apex, becoming abyssal: her body darkens completely, and she grows to a towering height of 150 feet (45.7 meters). In this state, Huntress wields one of the most feared abilities attributed to fairies—size-altering magic—shrinking even other giants.
The torturous procedures inflicted upon her fractured the fairy’s mind, creating a distinct divide between Abnoba and Huntress. When Huntress is in control, Abnoba experiences only faint, dreamlike echoes of what transpires—memories too vague to trust, yet too vivid to dismiss. As a result, she can never be certain of what she has truly done. Conversely, when Abnoba is in control, she cannot access Huntress’s amplified power—nor is she even aware it exists.
Despite her nature as a fairy, Abnoba does not view humans as prey, a consequence of her painful exposure to them. Yet this does not make her safe. Moonlight serves as a programmed trigger, even in the absence of her handlers in The Cure. When it rises, Huntress awakens—her power surges, her hunger deepens, and any hesitation toward consuming those within reach vanishes entirely.

Note: Some details may change by the time I write the story. Abnoba's storyline is planned for the second arc of A Felaryan Odyssey, the sequel to Torin Youth.
MARIENNE THE TWO-TAILED MERMAID

This is a rough idea for Marienne. Details on her are limited because I have some plot twists in mind. Marienne has a unique mutation, obviously, and has two tails. I'm currently planning for her to be the antagonist of the fourth and final story arc.
This story arc will take place on Shillapo Island, far from where it began in Kelerm. Atreus and Helia join a sea krait naga named Navya (sketch coming soon probably) dealing with this extraordinarily determined mermaid attacking the fishermen there, which the harpies and sea krait nagas of the island were mistakenly accusing each other of doing.
Read the first story TORIN YOUTH.
